State of the ART –Advanced Recycling Technologies Ltd(ART) –clean fuels for a cleaner climate
biocentre® - The Next Generation
ART's evolved process design will be branded as biocentre® facilities which will handle mixed waste for fuel production from commercial, industrial and domestic household waste sources
These ART biocentre® facilities will produce high quality
consistent specification fuel pellets that under revised EU Waste
Framework Directive (2008) and recent legal precedents are expected to
no longer be classed as *waste*, and can be used in coal - fired power
stations, further reducing emissions.
Benefits of ART biocentre®
Fully enclosed and automated process - no human contact with waste.
Remove recyclables (glass, metals & plastics)
Excellent lifecycle performance (WRATE)
Zero odour.
Proven track record in UK at commercial scale.
Reduce transport costs and emissions.
Reduce wasteful landfill.
Minimise kerbside recycling costs (and Health & Safety risks). Also provides opportunity to Local Authorities to focus on batteries, WEEE, reusables separation at kerbside.
Generate cleaner electricity.
To date delivery of infrastructure has
mainly been based around household
waste (only 9% of total UK waste!)
ART's biocentre® plants can handle all household and commercial waste as well as a proportion of demolition, construction and industrial waste. These materials are processed to produce much needed clean fuel, displacing significant amounts of waste biomass which are imported for power generation
ART's biocentre® facilities offer a holistic cost-effective solution to produce clean biomass pellets for use in power generation thus reducing emissions from coal burning and landfill. more »
